Scope
Cutting back overhanging and overgrown trees along a rural road on the Arbury Estate, near Nuneaton.
Challenge
Working next to a live road in full summer canopy, with the verge too narrow for standard vehicles and a need to keep the carriageway clear of debris.
Solution
The Unimog was positioned on the verge with the chipper at the working face, so branches went straight into the chipper instead of onto the road. The excavator handled heavier sections.
Equipment
Mercedes Unimog 2100 with rear-mounted chipper; JCB 60C-2 excavator.
Result
Clearance restored along the roadside, with the road left clear.
