Scope
Tree safety works to trees on the frontage of a working primary school, alongside the public footpath and school entrance.
Challenge
Children, parents and staff use the entrance and pavement throughout the day. The work area had to be kept separate from pedestrians, and the vehicle footprint on a residential street kept to a minimum.
Solution
Works were timed around the school day with the work zone fenced off from the entrance and footpath. Branches were chipped as they came down so no brash was left on the pavement.
Equipment
Mercedes Unimog 2100 carrying the crew, climbing kit and rear-mounted chipper in a single vehicle.
Result
Trees made safe with the school able to operate normally, and the frontage left clean.
