Scope
Clearing storm-damaged, leaning and self-set trees from a woodland access track, and opening up the track edges.
Challenge
A tree had snapped in high winds. The track was soft and waterlogged in winter, which ruled out standard trucks and trailers.
Solution
The Unimog’s all-terrain ability let the crew work along the track without getting stuck. The broken stem was made safe, selected trees felled, brash chipped into the body and timber cut and stacked at the track edge for the estate.
Equipment
Mercedes Unimog 2100 with rear-mounted chipper; chainsaw crew.
Result
A clear, safe access track with timber stacked for collection and retained trees left untouched.
